You can get unstuck.

EMDR Therapy for adults in Snohomish, WA.

Are you feeling stuck in the same emotions, body sensations, thoughts, and behaviors?  You may get really upset with yourself because to can’t figure out how to heal or feel/do/think differently?  EMDR can help.

A traumatic experience can include violence, natural disaster, car accidents, being attacked, bullying, or a relational trauma.  Our brains react to traumas in the same way whether is be a breakup or a natural disaster. And our brains try to keep us safe by using one or more of the fight/flight/freeze/fawn responses.  When a trauma overloads our brain and we don’t have enough support, resources or adaptive experiences to heal, things can get trapped.  This is when a person tends to relive the trauma over and over again and this can feel debilitating and excruciating. EMDR can help to help your brain restore the information and allow you to gain access to your own personal resources and experience relief and hope.

EMDR is also a much kinder therapy when trying to work through difficult things because you get to chose how much you disclose about the traumatic events.

EMDR is a researched based treatment for:

  • Childhood Trauma

  • PTSD

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

You can find your footing again.

Frequently asked questions about EMDR therapy

FAQs

  • Therapy works by exploring the source of your symptoms and issues, which helps you better understand yourself. With this information, you can begin to take back control through coping skills, improving negative self-talk, and increasing self-acceptance. These are some ways therapy can help.

  • Sometimes people go to therapy for symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or big life transitions. Other reasons people seek therapy are for greater self-insight, to understand how their past has impacted them, or because they think things can be better but are not sure how to improve things.

  • The first step is to reach out and schedule a free 15-minute consultation. If we are a good match, then I will ask you to fill out some paperwork, and we will schedule our first session.
